Dr. Adeola Davis was born on June 4, 1954 at Yagba local government in Kogi State, where he started his primary education at the ECWA primary school. He proceeded to the government secondary school, Omu-Aran in Kogi State, for his secondary education. He obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Benin in 1985.

He completed the mandatory housemanship at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital between September 1985 and October 1986 with the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery and worked as a senior house officer between 1989 and 1991.

He commenced the residency training program at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital in 1991 and the senior residency training in 1993. He passed the West African College of Surgeons part II Fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1995. He was appointed by the Ahmadu Bello University as a Consultant and Lecturer I in 1996 and was promoted to the position of Senior Lecturer in 2004.

He held several leadership positions at the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery. He was appointed the Head of Department between 2007 and 2011 and Program Officer for the department between 1995 and 2007. He also served as a valuable member of the Editorial Board of the Sub Saharan African Journal of Medicine.

He rose to the position of a reader in 2007, before his death on May 4, 2019. He is survived by his wife and three children.
